Franco Mondi

Educational Roastery

Every bean is important for Franco Mondi. At his Educational Roastery, the coffee vaunts great character.

This is because Mondicaffè’s philosophy is dedicated to the quality of the ingredients and the redevelopment of their places of origin. The company opened in Rome in 1959, and its staff works hard every day to stay up to date on the times, adhering to all the technological innovations of the industry in order to maintain a high level of quality. Since 1996, Mondicaffè has collaborated with C.S.C. – Caffè Speciali Certificati – to support education and employment opportunities in developing countries.

The coffee imported by Mondi comes from Indonesia, Costa Rica, Brazil, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Colombia, India and Peru. At Mercato Centrale Torino, there will be a room dedicated to roasting, where a roaster selected by Mondi will toast coffee at the Mercato twice a week, so the drink is always fresh. Professional coffee tastings and lessons on Brazilian-style cupping will be offered in the education room.

The dedicated attention given to the entire production process bestows each cup of coffee with a story of its origins and producers, and is the result of a careful selection and much research. The company has set itself an ambitious goal: transform coffee from a simple, everyday habit into a moment to pause, think and taste with all the senses.
