Mimmo Di Bernardo‘s shop

Born in Palermo, Mimmo Di Bernardo moved to Rome in search of fortune. To support himself, he began working as a bartender, a job that soon became his passion. At the young age of 25, Mimmo opened his first restaurant and began to cultivate a love for high-quality food. He dreamt of taking Italian cuisine beyond its borders and erging it with Japanese cuisine: this is how an elegant and quality product is born that expresses the concept, very dear to Mimmo, of “Good food”. Today Mimmo carries on his dream in the location that, 40 years earlier, his grandfather had aspired of opening a Sicilian pastry shop. The preparation that best represents Mimmo’s craft is the “Sicily Passion”. Created to celebrate his origins, the dish combines staple Sicilian products such as orange marinated tuna, chopped pistachios and lemon mayonnaise. Mimmo Di Bernanrdo brings to the Mercato Centrale a perfect fusion: sushi prepared according to Japanese tradition but made with only national ingredients.
