le empanadas by Matias Perdomo

Empanadas at their tastiest

Culture, history and authenticity are the watchwords of Matias Perdomo.
Matias Perdomo, together with his friends Simon Press and Thomas Piras, set up his business Empanadas del Flaco in December 2020, with the aim of bringing a bit of the food’s history and origins to Italy. With his empanadas, Matias decided to concentrate on the ingredients first and foremost, using them to tell the story of the producers and suppliers that he has worked with for years. Theirs is a relationship of complete trust, built upon ethical practices and responsibility. What’s the best time to have an empanada? For Matias, the answer is obvious: anytime! These little stuffed half-moon shapes of dough are an icon of Argentine street food, and are perfect at every moment of the day. With his boutique in the Mercato Centrale Milano, Matias brings his empanadas back into their spiritual home: the marketplace, with its bustle of voices, intrigued glances, a cocktail of smells and new flavors to try.
