Impelled by a passion handed down from her family, Zhang Jiang Qiu takes on a new
cooking concept to bring oriental flavors and specialties to the Mercato.
Born and bred in Beijing, Qiu decided early on to pursue her dream and introduce the
Chinese culinary culture to Italians.
Love, courage, and tenacity are the values that Zhang conveys in her recipes, which
are considered “a different kind of traditional”: a synergy between two distinct cultures,
united by a flavor that tastes like home.
Noodles, wontons, duck, rice – each goodness is prepared with ingredients carefully
selected from the best local producers. Zhang brings three types of meat to Mercato
Centrale: chicken, duck and pork, which are rigorously elaborated and plated with her
unique and distinctive style.
With just one taste of Zhang Jiang Qiu’s specialties, we are immediately transported
